Multiple market pressures are driving new focus onto weighbridge systems and waste tracking:
- Regulatory changes for general waste under the 150 kilometre zone
- Lowered ceilings on the limit above which a weighbridge system must be in place
- A push for GPS tracking of vehicles involved, and
- Better accounting for waste movements
At a recent breakfast meeting of the WCRA (Waste Contractors & Recyclers Association) NSW, the EPA announced these dramatic changes primarily intended to knock out rogue operators in the industry.
